Production President(2005 - Present)

Bharati Shipyard Ltd., Mumbai, India

Responsible for Production Activities, Strategic Management and Project Management at the 5 ship building facilities.
Managing interfaces between the Shipyard, Ship Owner Clients, International Classification Societies and local authorities.
Maintaining all projects within strict time and cost constraints.
Recruitment of production senior managers and staff.
Involved in marketing and business development activities and functions worldwide.
Developed a small shipyard in Goa, India to build vessels up to a maximum of 170m and 6000 dwt.
Designed Yard Layout including; Hull Erection Area, Fabrication Areas and Workshops.
Responsible for Civil works and integration of all machinery and facilities.
Total Cost of machinery and facilities approx US$ 6.5m. Vessel cost >US$30m.
Workforce employed for setting up 150. Present workforce employed for vessel building 600.
Negotiated and procured ship building equipment to suit operating environments, geographical area and culture.
Implementing Safety and Quality Improvements and awareness at all sites.
Developed Project Standards and Procedures that improved vessel build quality to recognized International Standards.
Set up an Alum Building Facility to produce 20 Nos, 35 knot fast patrol vessels plus recruitment and Team selection.
Aluminium Total Project Value > US$ 85 million.
Managing the build of the “First in the World”, 132m LNG Powered, Pallet, RORO container vessel. Value > US$ 30m.
Developed a Side Launching Facility for 120 m and 132 m vessels. 3 vessels launched.
Developed (in-house) a trolley and rail system for the transfer and positioning of 250T to 1,700T vessel blocks and sections within the yard.
This system was coupled with a barge for sea transportation of 250T sections from and to other outlying yards.
Developed and built a hydraulic positioning system to align max 1,200T vessel sections with 6 degrees of movement.
Developed a Programme for the Safe Storage, Protection and Preservation of all types of Ship’s Equipment and Machinery in Tropical Conditions.
