- Section Commander on OP Herrick 10, Afghanistan, (6 month tour in Sangin).
- Involved in a joint military-civilian plan to push back the Taliban. Carried out security duties and ensured the supply chain was not affected by enemy forces.
- Entering villages and districts in Helmand with support from the Afghan Army and Afghan Police who hold the ground we have cleared, to prevent the Taliban returning.
- Located in Sangin for a 6 week test exercise to fulfilled the role of SSBGC.

- Also worked as part of a training team in Jordan training the Jordanian Army. Supervised individuals under training: planned, implemented training schedules. Conducted lessons in the classroom, practical exercises and carried out tests and assessments.
- Made recommendations for promotions and further training.
- Headed a team of 12 specialist instructors teaching potential officers most aspects of military training.
