DEDICATED SAFETY ADVISOR (Jan 2011 - Present)

DSL, Saltend site, Hull. Vivergo fuels project

Mainly responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety (permits, method statements, risk assessments, inductions, training, tool box talks etc). * Maintaining Vivergo’s excellent safety performance:
Vivergo Fuels has achieved another significant safety milestone at its Saltend based construction site, completing 3 million hours without a Day Away from Work Case (DAFWC).
This is the same as 40 people working for 40 years on a construction site without an injury that would cause a loss of a single working day.
In recognition of this achievement, Vivergo and its managing contractor, Aker Solutions, have donated £20,000 to five charities nominated by the workforce.
Duties and responsibilities also commensurate with positions below.

SCAFFOLDING INSPECTOR AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE (2009 - Jan 2012)

Barrier Group Ltd., Wallsend

Inspected scaffolds and the relayed information on engineered drawings, erections and dismantling.
Maintained records to and submitted them to the company’s auditing body.
Implemented Health and Safety, through regular meetings with the dedicated health and safety team.
Also inspected work areas on safety walk-arounds.
Maintained a safety policy that ensured the health and safety of persons involved in the work carried out by the company and to prevent damage to property in accordance with the guidelines as laid down by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 .
Carried out research into specific problems associated with dust emission, noise and waste handling that reduced danger to personnel and the environment.
Provided scaffolding, access and containment for 3 nuclear submarines for BAE Systems, Barrow.

As Lead Scaffolder worked on the Bonga Scaffolding project in Wallsend.
Erected all complex scaffolding. * Responsible for a multicultural team (about 250 multi-cultural Scaffolders).
Relaying of all scaffold works to the foremen and solved problems that arose.
As Part of a Safety Team, implemented health and safety throughout the project.
Identified hazards and implemented changes.
Wrote reports for daily safety council meetings.
Audited scaffolding inspection reports and presented findings at monthly safety council meetings.
This project was the largest offshore construction project in the world at a cost of $4.5 billion.
